Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be experiencing problems to join Brewtime?
No. Brewtime is a Men’s Peer support group. Yes our aim is to offer support to Men who may be struggling but you don’t have to be. We all struggle at sometime :)
Do you offer counselling or therapy?
No. We are not Mental health Professionals or support workers. We are simply a bunch of blokes who come together to offer peers support.
Why do you meet in the city centre?
This is where our initial members found it easiest to meet.
Why do you not advertise where and when you meet?
Brewtime, has been set up by community members not by professionals. We are aware that as a group that offers a space for men to talk so we like to make sure we have a chance to chat to anyone before hand to ensure they fully understand the groups purpose.
Can you fix things for me?
No, unfortunately we are not fixers but we can provide a place to meet with other men to discuss things that matter to them. We can introduce you to positive activities, peer support and hopefully in the future training.
What if I am nervous about meeting new people?
We are a welcoming group and have all been new, we are pretty friendly and will do all we can to make you feel welcome. If you would like to attend with the support of someone else be that a friend or professional that’s fine. However please remember it is a Man only space. Please feel free to speak to us beforehand
How do I get involved with Brewtime?
Drop us a line, come to one of our advertised sessions such as Tai Chi or if you have sought professional support they may introduce you to us.
Why do you meet in the daytime and not the evenings?
The group was set up by a small number of gents living in the city centre of Swansea to support men that have been struggling with their emotional health. We decided to meet in the days because that is when our members were available.
Can women attend?
Sorry Ladies, great as you are this is a Men only space
